Matt's Vision for the Farm

It has been an 18 year journey from the time I decided that I wanted to farm.  A journey that springs from deeply held religious convictions.

In my late teens and early twenties as I studied the old testament and God's plan for His people in the Promised Land, I discovered the importance of people on the land how they were to work the land and the land was to stay in the family forever. They were never to sell the land and they were to till the land in a responsible manner and let it rest every 7 years.

As I read the new testament and Jesus' teachings, I noticed that most of His stories where drawn from agriculture and nature. I have grown to believe that as we live near the land we can maintain a closer relationship to the Creator.

As I have looked back over history, both biblical and otherwise, I have seen many if not most of the greatest men spent at least a period of time on the land before they made a big impact in their world.  I believe that life on the land imposes a special discipline of the mind and body that man does not have the power to impose upon himself, yet needs in a desperate way to maintain morality and uprightness.

These factors, convictions and beliefs have driven me on to find a way to make a living from a piece of land, along with the fact that we also get to partake of the freshest and best food around on a daily basis!

We strive to keep our goats under the healthiest management practices we can, We feed them no soy or corn because of our desire to stay away from GMO feeds

"Whether we and our politicians know it or not, Nature is party to all our deals and decisions, and she has more votes, a longer memory, and a sterner sense of justice than we do."
